photogragher--- Annie Leibovitz

One of the most celebrated (female) photographers, Annie Leibovitz (born October 2, 1949 in Waterbury, Connecticut) is a noted American portrait photographer whose style is marked by a close collaboration between the photographer and the subject.

Her portraits have been appearing in magazines for over 25 years. She started as a photographer for Rolling Stone magazine and works for Vanity Fair and Vogue.

Women is a representative theme to her. It’s an exhibition and also a book with powerful photographs of women living in America at the end of the 20th century.

Annie Leibovitz' portraits of women have a very wide range. She documents domestic assault, "the leading cause of injuries to American women", with portraits of victims of domestic violence. She goes beyond the stereotypes of female beauty, but of course also presents models of beauty, like actress and sportswomen.

In 2007, Leibovitz was asked by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II to take her official picture for her state visit to Virginia.

I Am David

It is my second time to watch this film and It touches me a lot. It is based on a real story.

David, the little boy, could not understand why should some people live so hard and painful. He didn’t know how to smile and why should to. He didn’t know any of the beautiful things in the world. That’s because before his adventure to Denmark, he spent most of the time in the concentration camp.

On David’s way to Denmark, It was like a discovering adventure in a whole new
world. The more people he contact, the more he learned and experienced.

Concern, affections, smile, and the most of all, to trust. All of the above were not even exist in the concentration camp live for him. How much can a little boy learn from the journey?

It makes me think that why there are still so many people who doesn’t cherish their freedom, and takes it deservedly. Just see how hard David pursued those things we have already got. And those who doesn’t care about it should all be ashamed of themselves. If we want to make this world a better one, everyone should spread love as much as one can.

Did you know?

Last Thursday, in our design history class.
The teacher showed us a short video made by a professor in America.

Global Warming Ready

DIESEL combines there new season fashion with the "globe warming " concept into their advertisement. Look at their posters, we see desertification occur in the great wall and jungles around Paris and London.

Although It is composite image, but as we know, is it possible to happen in the future. And we certainly not looking forward the day comes.

The design of DIESEL's new advertisements not only remind people to face the global warming issue, but also convey a message that no matter it is desertification or deluge, you can always enjoy this brand. The thing is, as a student of design, I think that whenever we are think of design, we can always think of the ecology.

Chocolate fondue!

One of my favorite sweet is CHOCOLATE FONDUE! It sounds fancy, but actullay very easy to make. This desert was originally from Switzerland, and now has become one of the most popular deserts in the world. The steps are so simple that I am sure you will be surprised of.

First, go to buy lots of chocolate bricks, including dark and milk ones. Others like marshmallows, sponge cakes, and some fresh fruits, normally would be strawberry or banana.

Second, find a stove or a candle that can keep heating the pot. Break the chocolate bricks into pieces and melt them together. Remember the best proportion for dark chocolate and milk chocolate is 2:1. But you can change it or even add some brandy to make your personal flavor.

Keep stirring the chocolate to make the mix perfect. After all the above steps, the last and the simplest step is to dip the fruit in melted chocolate with long sticks. Fruit and sponge cakes are better to be cutted in a mouthful size. Now, you can enjoy your fondue! Isn’t that easy?

Pride and Prejudice

Pride and Prejudice is one of my favorite movie in my entire life!! Not only the new version movies but also the old BBC one, and the novel! It talks about love that between the upper classes of society and the commonalty. The pure of love, pride, and prejudice. It also gives us a glance to the lifestyle in England in 18th.

In the movie, I enjoy the bravery buildings, splendid balls, resplendent dresses and the British country seat and views. There are breathtaking beautiful precipices and countless sheeps there in the big , wild green filed. It's so interesting to see the lifestyle in old Britain which attracted me so much! That's the place where I want to go or to live.
